Three-Day Training: Qualitative Data Analysis – Coding and Analysis Strategies

As part of the project, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split, hosted a three-day training programme entitled “Qualitative Data Analysis: Coding and Analysis Strategies”. The training was intended for researchers and all those interested in developing competencies in qualitative data analysis. Over the course of 15 hours, participants engaged in structured lectures, practical exercises, and guided analyses, gaining an understanding of the key stages of the qualitative analytical process—from initial data coding to theme development, interpretation, and the presentation of research findings.

The workshop was based on a research project through which participants analysed prepared interview transcripts and documentary materials, applying the analytical techniques presented during the training. Participants were also introduced to software tools for qualitative data analysis, including MAXQDA.

The training was led by Assist. Prof. Anka Kekez Koštro, PhD, from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, an expert in qualitative research methods.
